Registration

Cougars Football League is continuing to accept registrations by mail in all age groups. Please visit the Registration tab to view registration instructions. Cougars Football League has the following number of spots left in each Division:

Expression of Interest for Assistant Coaches
As minor football has grown in Chatham-Kent we are seeing more requests to coach. In order to provide anyone interested in coaching minor football an opportunity to express that interest, Cougars Football League is now accepting expressions of interest for assistant coaching positions in the Tyke, Atom and PeeWee Divisions for the 2010 season.

In your expression of interest please include the following:
• Division(s) and practice location requested
• Name, telephone number and e-mail address
• Brief description of coaching and/or playing experience

Tyke Commissioner
We are still looking for one volunteer to be Commissioner of the Tyke Division in 2010.
The Tyke Commissioner will work with the League Director to create a positive minor football experience. The Tyke Commissioner is the League’s representative at games and, where required, practices, and acts as the point of contact for coaches, volunteers, referees and parents. The prime responsibility of the Commissioner is to report and manage Fair Play and League Rule issues and to communicate League Mission and Values. The Tyke Commissioner will work with the Game Day Coordinators to ensure smooth functioning on game day.

Schedule

The 2010 schedule is being prepared. Workouts will likely start the week of August 30. Stay tuned for more important schedule information.

2010 Cougars Football League Registration

Expression of Interest for Coaches

In order to provide anyone interested in coaching minor football an opportunity to express that interest, Cougars Football League will accept expressions of interest for head coaching positions in the Tyke, Atom and PeeWee Divisions for the 2010 season until May 16.

In your expression of interest please include the following:
• Division(s) and practice location requested
• Name, telephone number and e-mail address
• Brief description of coaching and/or playing experience

Submit your expression of interest to Jim Redford at jredford@cogeco.ca or if you have questions please call 519-355-0004. A Coaching Form will be required to be filled out and submitted once head coaches are selected.

Head coaching positions will be filled before May 30 at which time we will solicit interest in assistant coaching positions.

Commissioners

We are looking for two important volunteers to be Commissioners in 2010 to help with the smooth functioning of the League.

Commissioners will work with the League Director to create a positive minor football experience. A Commissioner is the League’s representative at games and, where required, practices, and acts as the point of contact for coaches, volunteers, referees and parents. The prime responsibility of a Commissioner is to report and manage Fair Play and League Rule issues and to communicate League Mission and Values. At games, Commissioners will work with the Game Day Coordinators. For parent volunteers, we will schedule those Commissioners to be at the same fields that their children are playing at.

2010 Cougars Football League Registration

2010 Minor Registration Costs

Registrations received prior to August 27, 2010 will cost $195 per player. Registrations received on or after August 27, 2010 will cost $225 per player. No registrations will be accepted after September 9, 2010.

2010 Minor Registration Requirements

For registration, each player will need to present record of birth or proof of birthday. A registration will be considered complete when: (i) Registration and Player Form has been completed, including completed and signed Media Waiver;
(ii) Ontario Football Alliance Registration Form (insurance waiver) has been completed and signed; and
(iii) Payment has been received or a payment schedule satisfactory to the Chatham-Kent Cougars Football Club has been arranged.

April registration dates are being held in conjunction with the NFL Canada Clinic at CKSS.

2010 Minor Divisions

Players will play in the Division that corresponds to their year of birth and will be assigned to teams by the League.

Player Obligations

All players are expected to follow the Fair Play Code for Athletes and to respect the League Rules. An Equipment Receipt Acknowledgement Form will be required to be signed for each player for all equipment issued by the Chatham-Kent Cougars Football Club and all equipment issued by the Chatham-Kent Cougars Football Club must be returned following the last game or practice of the season in which a player participates.

Refund Policy

A maximum refund of $100 will be granted to any registered player for the 2010 season that wishes to deregister from the Cougars Football League provided that, on or before September 13, 2010, (i) any original receipt issued by the Chatham-Kent Cougars Football Club is returned; and (ii) all Chatham-Kent Cougars Football Club equipment is returned. After September 13, 2010 no refunds for the 2010 season will be provided.
